We have completed our two-year-long COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Outreach project with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP). This project, which was funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) created a nation-wide communications and outreach effort consisting of local, regional, and national institutions and organizations geared toward providing services and resources for the I/DD communities throughout the country.
The NADSP, whose focus is on the direct support professionals workforce, conducted regional focus groups, launched national surveys (in partnership with the University of Minnesota), and developed and deployed several PSAs aimed at giving support professionals (and self-advocates) a voice as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic, their views of the COVID-19 vaccines, and future directions. We are eternally grateful for the opportunity to work with the NADSP, as well as the AUCD and the project's various partners located throughout the United States.
The PSAs are available on the University of Minnesota's Institute on Community Integration website: https://ici.umn.edu/addressing-covid-19-vaccine-access-and-confidence
Findings from the national survey are available at https://ici.umn.edu/covid19-survey

We are pleased to announce the completion of a comprehensive research study that examined the perceptions and lived experiences of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have experienced mental health crises, along with the views of their families, caretakers, providers, educators, law enforcement, case managers, and direct support professionals.
