Editorial Board Member Job Description - ORE Press


ORE Press (a subsidiary of Osceola Research and Evaluation LLC) is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable individuals to serve as members of our Editorial Board. Editorial Board Members play a crucial role in shaping the direction and maintaining the quality of ORE Press publications. They are responsible for providing expert advice, reviewing submissions, and contributing to the overall strategic goals of the press.


Responsibilities


Manuscript Review:

  • Evaluate submitted manuscripts based on scholarly merit, originality, significance, and clarity.
  • Provide constructive feedback to authors to improve the quality of their work.
  • Adhere to established timelines for manuscript reviews.


Editorial Guidance:

  • Advise ORE Press on the scope and direction of its publications.
  • Identify emerging trends and important topics within relevant fields.
  • Suggest potential authors and topics for future publications.


Strategic Planning:

  • Participate in strategic planning meetings to set goals and priorities for ORE Press.
  • Contribute to the development of new initiatives and projects.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of current publications and programs.


Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all publications meet the highest standards of academic rigor and ethical conduct.
  • Monitor and address any issues related to quality or integrity.
  • Uphold ORE Press’s reputation for excellence in publishing.


Promotion and Outreach:

  • Represent ORE Press at conferences, workshops, and other events (as needed).
  • Promote ORE Press publications to colleagues and within professional networks.
  • Assist in building relationships with authors, reviewers, and other stakeholders.


Policy Development:

  • Contribute to the development and revision of editorial policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that policies are consistent with best practices in academic publishing.
  • Provide guidance on issues related to copyright, permissions, and intellectual property.


Qualifications

  • Doctorate or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of focus for ORE Press (see www.osceolaresearch.com/ore-press ).
  • Substantial record of scholarly publications and professional achievements.
  • Experience in peer review and editorial processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in publishing.


Terms of Service

  • Editorial Board Members will serve a one (1) year term, with the possibility of renewal.
  • Members are expected to attend four (4) virtual meetings per year.
  • Compensation: This is a volunteer position to start, however as ORE Press grows, there may be opportunity for compensation for those who are most active and interested in maintaining their role on the Editorial Board for a longer term.
