The "Dual Diagnosis Training Year 4" project aims to train individuals on crisis prevention, intervention, and post-crisis strategies for people with developmental disabilities and mental health conditions (dual diagnosis). The project will develop and refine training curricula, conduct research on effective state agency collaboration, and pilot an integrated service planning program. The goal is to implement effective practices to reduce unnecessary and restrictive placements for individuals with dual diagnoses. The project is sponsored by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living and the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Inc., and runs from September 27, 2024, to September 26, 2025. The final training curriculum and project report will be available by September 19, 2025.
